| Lathe work is very simple. You get rid of the excess wood. The hard part is deciding what is excess. I look for wood that has its own form and style, maybe some spalting or bark exclusions, a burl that I can see in the wood and in my mind. I usually have an idea of what I want, but Mother Nature has a way of changing that. |
