(view location)

Dear Member,

We are extending a special invitation to all juried members of The Louisville Artisans Guild to participate in the 2008 Holiday Showcase. We are excited to announce that the Location will again be at the American Legion Highland Post. This Location is just a few blocks north of the Watterson Expressway and extremely visible to the general public.

We hope this new venue will be successful and profitable for all our Holiday Showcase participants.

A message from the Scholarship Committee:

Every year we hold a raffle at the showcase in order to raise money for our scholarship fund. We Will once again hold a raffle of individual items since this was so well received during our past shows. We will raffle items donated by our members as well as items donated by local artist shops and other establishments in the area.

Exhibitors at the Holiday Showcase are encouraged to donate an item for the raffle. We also encourage other members to donate an item to be raffled as well to boost our scholarship fund. As we have done before, the donated items will be set up on designated tables and ticket buyers will receive tickets that they can place in a box next to the item that they would like to win. At the end of the show one ticket will be drawn from each box to determine the winner of each item.

If possible, we would like to know in advance what you will donate and the approximate size of the item so that we can plan the number of tables, space, and lighting for our display. Donations for the raffle can be brought to the Louisville Artisan Guild General Meetings at the Mellwood Center (Gallery Janjobe) between now and October. Or donations can be brought during set-up on Friday afternoon before the show at Highland Post. Please include 2 business cards with your donation so we have one for the display and one to enclose with the item.

If you would like to volunteer to help during the show, please contact the Guild. Volunteers are needed to:

  • sell raffle tickets at the Scholarship booth for a 2 or 3 hour shift
  • be a greeter at the door for a 2 or 3 hour shift

As you know, the Guild ís Nelle Peterson Memorial Art Scholarship is a $1,000 scholarship awarded to a local high school senior who plans to major in an art-related field in college. Your donation helps us raise funds so that we can offer this scholarship and encourage young artists in their pursuits.

Thank you for your support in making the raffle and the Holiday Showcase a success.
